The James L. Hamner Public Library will be closing Fridays at 1 p.m., starting tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 17) until further notice. Prescheduled appointments, events, or reservations in the Hamner Room on Fridays will not be affected by this.

Even though the building is closed, the catalog is available 24/7! With a library card, access is available to place holds on books for pickup later, or ebooks and e-audiobooks are ready for download on the Libby app anytime. The library’s Wi-Fi is always available as well, and reaches to our solar-powered bench and out to the parking lot.

In other news, on Saturday (Feb. 25), the JLHPL Friends of the Library will be sponsoring an event called “Books Bridge Generations.” We’re inviting all kids between the ages of 5 to 12 along with their families and adults 55 years or older to read to each other and bridge the gap between generations! Picture books will be provided, or bring favorites.
