An Amelia man is facing a relatively unusual charge, according to Amelia Commonwealth’s Attorney Lee Harrison.
In the sheriff’s weekly report, on Thursday (Feb. 23) Mark J. Costley, 53, of Amelia, was charged with the unauthorized use of an electronic tracking device. He was released on a summons to appear in general district court on March 7.
On Tuesday (Feb. 21) Nathaniel J. Elder, 35, of Amelia, was charged with domestic assault and battery. He was released on his own recognizance and was due to appear in juvenile and domestic relations court on Monday (Feb. 27).
On Monday (Feb. 20) James W. Griffin 43, of Chesterfield County, was charged with two counts of contracting without a license or registration. He was released on summonses to appear in general district court on April 4.
On Sunday (Feb. 26) Gilbert Hernandez, 41, of Farmville, was charged with DUI, 1st offense. He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in general district court on March 7.
On Feb. 23 Lisa J. Milliner, 42, of Amelia, was charged with domestic assault and battery. She was released on her own recognizance and is due to appear in juvenile and domestic relations court on March 6.
On Friday (Feb. 24) Ansel L. Parham, 51, of Virginia Beach, was arrested by Virginia Beach police on an Amelia warrant charging him with misdemeanor probation violation. He was taken to jail and was due to appear in general district court on Tuesday (Feb. 28).
On Feb. 24 Payton R. Parks, 31, of Amelia, was charged with a community diversion program violation. He was taken to Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville and was due to appear in juvenile and domestic relations court on Feb. 27.
On Wednesday (Feb. 22) David E. Swyhart, 62, of Amelia, was charged with DUI, 1st offense. He was released on bond and was due to appear in general district court on Feb. 28.
