Final Amelia Day march

     The Amelia County High School U.S. Air Force J-ROTC cadet color guard made its final appearance at Amelia Day Saturday (May 12) as the unit is being disbanded and the program at ACHS closed. Large, steady crowds and nice weather made Amelia Day 2012 a success as planned by the local volunteer committee. The event in the Courthouse Square is held each May on the Saturday before Mother’s Day, which coincides with the founding of Amelia County in 1774-75.
